Celtic winger Scott Sinclair has heaped the praise on striker Moussa Dembele by saying that the 20-year-old is comparable with Chelsea great Didier Drogba.
Regarded as one of the greatest strikers in the Premier League history, Drogba scored more than 150 goals for the blues in almost a decade at the club. He remains as the highest scoring African footballer in the league. Dembele is at the other end of his career. After being released by Fulham, he decided to join Scottish giants Celtic in the summer. It has been a hugely beneficial move, as Dembele has been able to take positive step in each month.
After being linked with a return to English football with Chelsea during the January transfer window, Dembele has taken another step in his progress by scoring a huge number of goals in the last two months.
A return of 11 goals in the last five league matches has seen Dembele top the Scottish Premier League goal scoring charts for the first time this season. Up until now, former Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair was receiving a lot of plaudits for managing to transform Celtic into a different league. Celtic have by far been the best team in the Scottish football this season. They have dropped only two points in 27 league matches.
“Moussa is doing unbelievably well. With the confidence he’s got, he’s scoring every week and is a massive player. He got back to back hat-tricks and his development is unbelievable. The most clinical strikers I’ve played with are maybe Aguero or Tevez. I can throw in Drogba too!Is he similar? Yeah I’d say so.Moussa’s got that attribute where he’s just scoring goals and has that mentality to want to do better and better. It’s great,” said Sinclair after watching Dembele score two more goals in the win over Inverness.
