Italian midfielder Jorginho has said that he is ‘very happy’ at Chelsea and has no plans of returning to the Serie A during the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old is currently in his second season with the west London giants and he has already made nearly 100 appearances across all competitions.
In an interview covered by Calciomercato, Jorginho acknowledged that he had some concerns with the language but that has been solved over the past 18 months. He added that he is happy playing for the Blues despite the fact that he misses the atmosphere back home, he told: “I’m very happy here at Chelsea. Last year I only spoke in Italian, but this year I have improved my English. I miss the atmosphere and the food, but as I said, I’m happy here in London.”
Jorginho impressed during the first half of the current campaign under Lampard and he was particularly lauded for the quality distribution to the attackers. He has not been able to replicate the same during the backend of the campaign but he has nonetheless been a regular, having featured in 26 of the club’s 29 Premier League matches.
Prior to the coronavirus shutdown, the Blues accumulated 48 points from 29 games and that sees them in the fourth position on the table. They have not managed to win back-to-back league matches from November but have still remained in the Champions League spots with the teams behind them also struggling for consistency.
At present, the Premier League season has been suspended indefinitely and the governing body has already confirmed that there are no plans to restart the campaign at the beginning of May. Still, they are determined to conclude the season and reports have emerged that the remaining fixtures could be played from mid-June in a six-week block.
