Eden Hazard has revealed that he has received support from striker Didier Drogba

Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has revealed that he has received support from striker Didier Drogba to help him overcome his woes this season.

The attacking midfielder has suffered from a huge dip in form coupled with transfer rumours linking him to Real Madrid or Paris St Germain. The distraction on and off the field has been very difficult for the Belgian to cope with. He has either been injured or on a poor run of form this season. Hazard was crowned as the PFA Player of the Year, but he has just scored one goal this season.

As Hazard struggles to return to form, the player revealed that he has sought advice from one of the Chelsea legends in the form of Didier Drogba. The Ivory Coast international spent almost a decade at the club in two spells. During this period, he had to go through rough patches himself. On the whole, however, his record with the London club is extremely satisfactory. He has won the club numerous titles by scoring in almost 10 finals. There was also more than 150 goals in the Premier League from just over 350 matches. Drogba was linked with a return to the club in a coaching capacity a few months ago.

However, he is set to continue at Montreal Impact and see out the one year he has left on his contract.“He [Drogba] has always backed me.I’m not sure whether he’d ever experienced periods like that in his career, but I’ve always considered him a bit like a big brother. He’s there for me, whether it’s a text message or a phone call, and he’s helped raise my spirits. But I’ve never doubted myself,” said Hazard, who scored 14 league goals last season. He is yet to score in the league for the 2015-16 season.

Nicolas Anelka had taken up the offer to play in China

When Nicolas Anelka had taken up the offer to play in China four years back, it was surprising for a lot of people.

Obviously people knew that there would have been plenty of cash involved in making Anelka sign that deal, but, at that stage of his career where he was still good enough to play for the European clubs, if it was right for the Frenchman to do that, nobody was too sure,
But, ever since, it seems to be becoming quite common now in professional Football that players, who still have a quite a bit to offer to the big teams, are moving to remote places and featuring in lesser known leagues.

The other big name in the game to do so after Anelka was Robinho.

The Brazilian playmaker enjoyed a lot of success playing for his nation as well as for various top clubs, but, he surprised people too last year when he made his way to China.

And, he was quickly joined over there by his compatriot Paulinho.

Paulinho’s move was actually more surprising in comparison to that of Robinho as he was only in his late twenties and his best days were probably ahead of him.

He had been doing well in England playing for the Spurs, Paulinho.

But, he still didn’t mind moving to a country where he would not be able to achieve as much satisfaction as a player as he would do in Europe or South America.

And, it’s not only China which is attracting these established players.

The Leagues in countries like Singapore and others are also landing some well known internationals and it’s only going to become more frequent in future which, in a sense, is pretty good for the game of Football.

José Mourinho believes that Chelsea striker Diego Costa will be unable to match

José Mourinho believes that Chelsea striker Diego Costa will be unable to match the legacy of club legend Didier Drogba even though he may be on the lips of Chelsea fans. Costa has been a fan favourite since his first match for Chelsea last season.

A remarkable 20 league goals in his debut campaign got everyone going, but the Spaniard has struggled to replicate the same form this season. Even then, Costa remains favourite amongst the fans but he will struggle to come close to the legendary status enjoyed by his predecessor Drogba.

The Ivory Coast international played with Chelsea for more than 300 games over two spells. He ended up with more than 150 goals to his name, but the importance of those goals spoke volumes rather than the numbers itself. Drogba largely scored in key matches against the top teams. He was especially fond of scoring in the finals or semifinals of the tournaments. This helped the club win numerous trophies including the Champions League. Costa has been voicing concerns about leaving Chelsea either in January or in the summer, which comes as a surprise.

The manager recently admitted that Costa will see out his Chelsea contract, which still has three years left to run.”He didn’t say [he wanted to go back to Atletico]. He said that in football you never know. Filipe Luis was one example, but he could also say Fernando Torres.Atletico is a great club, Madrid is a great city, La Liga is a very good league, so why not a player 28 years old [sic: Costa is 27] not to think that in football it’s possible to be back? I don’t see a problem.
Drogba was here for 10 years. I don’t see Diego playing until he’s 38! He’s happy here, he likes to be here,” said Mourinho.

DROGBA TO BE DROPPED

Didier Drogba could be dropped from the side as a result of his poor form against Blackburn Rovers. According to the Daily Mirror, the Italian hopes the move will be the catalyst for a revival in the striker’s goal scoring form.

When Ancelotti left the big Ivorian out of his starting line-up for the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur before Christmas, it sparked an angry respone from Didier Drogba who came on as a substitute to score.

Daniel Sturridge – fresh from his two goal effort against Ipswich in the FA Cup – is the most likely beneficiary of any plans to drop Drogba.

DROGBA THE DANGER MAN

Didier Drogba represents the biggest threat for Arsenal in today’s clash at the Emirates. Didier Drogba has scored 13 goals in his last 13 matches against Arsenal and the Gunners simply do not seem to have an answer to the Ivorian’s pace and power. Drogba scored the opener when the sides met in October, in a 2-0 win for the Blues, and he is 6/1 at Free Bet to get the first of the game when Chelsea travel to the Emirates on Monday.

It is 2/1 with the same firm that the striker scores at any time against the Gunners and he can help Chelsea to get their title challenge back on track with a win over one of their nearest rivals Man City, at odds of 15/8 with Bet365.

DROGBA AIMS FOR WINS

Didier Drogba has said that key victories against Tottenham and the Manchester United will turn their season around. Chelsea have won just two matches out of the last eight in all competitions, a slump that threatens to end their hopes of retaining the league title they won, along with the FA Cup, last season.

Their implosion over the last few weeks has coincided with the removal of assistant first-team coach Ray Wilkins, although boss Carlo Ancelotti insists his departure has nothing to do with the loss of form, especially now they’ve beaten Fulham.

The Blues now face Gareth Bale and Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday, Manchester United at home and Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, and Drogba insists that victories over all three could turn their season around.

“It’s not getting any easier because we have Tottenham next,” Drogba said. “Maybe everyone will expect us to lose on Sunday, but it could be different.

I see Tottenham as genuine title rivals now. They are having a good season and there is no reason why they can’t challenge. Chelsea used to beat them regularly but things change, that’s life, but it is up to us to make it happen again.

DROGBA TO FACE FULHAM

Chelsea’s Didier Drogba is set to face Fulham despite having malaria, according to free bets uk. The 32-year-old, who began Sunday’s defeat at Liverpool on the bench after suffering a fever overnight, has started to use medication that should eradicate the illness within 48 hours.

Chelsea cannot say when Didier Drogba contracted malaria, which could have been in his system since the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola in January. They are confident there will be no long-term effect on his fitness. Drogba complained of feeling unwell before going to Ivory Coast on holiday in the international window last month, though tests then did not show up the disease as there was insufficient parasitic activity in his blood at the time.

He was treated symptomatically thereafter, taking antibiotics to address regular bouts of fever. Tests taken after the match at Anfield revealed the presence of malaria.

DROGBA DROPPED

Chelsea’s striker Didier Drogba was replaced by Fernando Torres against Fulham. The Blues signed the Spanish forward from Liverpool in January, breaking the British transfer record with a move believed to be in the region of £50 million.

The former AC Milan boss had played Nicolas Anelka, Drogba and Torres in his starting line-up against Liverpool, but the trio failed to make a significant impact in the game.

After the loss, Ancelotti had maintained that he would continue with all three forwards, but is now said to be considering the idea of dropping Drogba.

Chelsea are three points behind Tottenham – who currently occupy fourth place – but a victory over Fulham would see the Blues move into the Champions League qualifying spot.

DROGBA BACK TO HIS BEST

Didier Drogba was back to its best against Bolton Wanderers in the Premier league and he helped Chelsea to win. Drogba paved the way for an emphatic 4-0 victory against Bolton at the Reebok Stadium on Monday night with a magnificent opening goal from 30 yards. Florent Malouda, Nicolas Anelka and Ramires also got in on the scoring act to hand the team their first win on the road since October.

England defender Terry highlights their attacking options – and having Drogba up and running again. It was his 10th goal of the campaign – he scored 37 last season – and Terry said: “I think he is over the malaria now. I have never had it myself but speaking to people and the doctor here, it does knock you for six.

DROGBA FEARS FOR FUTURE

Didier Drogba has said that he is fearing for his Chelsea future. He did not start Tuesday’s Champions League tie away to FC Copenhagen with the Chelsea manager afforded the excuse that the striker, who is 33 next month, needed to be rested after playing 120 minutes against Everton in the FA Cup last Saturday.

With almost a full week’s rest and preparation before what Terry termed a “must-win” encounter at home to United on Tuesday, then Ancelotti will have all his big-name strikers – Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Fernando Torres – in the same condition.

Torres can expect to start (even though he could do with a pair od Didier’s Drogba Football Boots to help him find the net!) and after his two goals lst week, Nicolas Anelka should also play.

Terry paid tribute to the forwards. “The two guys who started, showing their pace, playing on people’s shoulders, there’s probably no better in the league,” the central defender said.

“Didier Drogba came on and showed the hunger and hopefully this is the start of them all clicking together; the three of them, between them, are so different as well. They are some of the best. To play against them must put fear into defenders.”
